Margarito KOs In The 11th!

On Saturday, July 26, Antonio Margarito stunned not only Miguel Cotto, one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world, but also the boxing world. Having issues early on against the highly mobile and quicker punching Cotto, Margarito continued to put on relentless pressure while working to the body and mixing in a vicious uppercut that landed all night. Like a hungry lion, Margarito never stopped coming forward but Cotto tried to keep moving, putting together combinations and staying out of harms way.  Having hurt Cotto in the 10th round, Margarito came out firing in the 11th and finally put Cotto down after a barrage of punches that the former champion couldn't avoid. With his nose possibly broken and blood splattered across his battered face, Cotto tried to fight on but Margarito again went for the kill and Cotto, exhausted and badly beaten took another knee, followed by his corner coming up on the apron to throw in the towel.
