Three-division champion Erik “Terrible” Morales will look to define his legendary career when he faces David Diaz on August 4th.  On the line will be the WBC lightweight title held by current champion David Diaz.  Morales, of Tijuana, MX, has won titles at super bantamweight, featherweight and super featherweight on his way to amassing a 48-5 record with 34 knockouts.  Morales has faced and beaten every fighter of consequence within those divisions, such as, Daniel Zaragoza, Wayne McCullogh, Marco Antonio Barrera, Kevin Kelley, Guty Espadas Jr., In Jin Chi, Paulie Ayala, Jesus Chavez, Carlos Hernandez and Manny Pacquiao.

Although only thirty years old he has been a pro fighter for 14 years and the wars he has fought have taken their toll in recent years, as Morales has gone 1-4 in his last five bouts.  Having trouble cutting the weight to the super featherweight limit of 130 lbs, Erik traveled north to the 135-pound division where he looked slow and lackadaisical as he dropped a unanimous decision to the faster Zahir Raheem in late 2005.  His drastic weight loss to meet the 130 lbs. limit led to his two TKO losses to Filipino sensation Manny Pacquiao in 2006.  His two other losses came at the hands of Marco Antonio Barrera as part of one of the most dramatic trilogies in recent years.
